New Delhi. Bajaj Auto on Friday launched the new Pulsar 180 Roadster in India. The price of this bike has been kept at Rs 1,04,768 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This latest bike is powered by BS6 emission standards engine and is made available in only one color – Black Red.
It has started arriving at the company’s dealership for bike displays and test rides. It was recently spotted at a dealership in Mumbai.
The bike gets a familiar single-pod headlight with twin DRLs in terms of exterior design and styling updates. The headlamp unit is fitted with a tinted front main visor. Other major design highlights of the bike include a muscular fuel tank with casing, split-style seats, engine cowl and two-piece pillion grab rail. Apart from this, the tweaked semi-digital instrument cluster has also been given in this bike.
In terms of mechanical updates, the bike uses a powertrain similar to the semi-faired Pulsar 180F. The engine is a single-cylinder 178.6 cc, air-cooled unit and produces a maximum power of 16.7 bhp at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 14.52 Nm at 6,500rpm. While it has a five-speed gearbox for transmission.
Suspension kits include telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged twin springs at the rear. At the same time, the braking is controlled by 280 mm single ***** in the front as well as 230 mm single rotor in the rear. Its brakes work together with single-channel ABS.
Some of the major rivals of the new Pulsar 180 BS 6 include the Honda Hornet 2.0, TVS Apache RTR 180 and Hero Extreme 160 R BS-6.
