New Delhi. A webinar was organized to encourage electric vehicle shopping in the capital Delhi. During this, it was told that after the policy related to electric vehicles, more than 7000 new electric vehicles have been registered in Delhi. A subsidy of about 13.5 crore has been distributed so far on more than 210 EV models approved in the capital.

The Dialogue and Development Commission held the first webinar under the Switch Delhi campaign under the joint aegis of WRI India. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot addressed the webinar by launching the Switch Delhi Resolution and encouraged everyone in Delhi to buy electric vehicles.
Meanwhile, Kailash Gehlot said, “Switch Delhi Sankalp has been launched to strengthen the commitment to be part of the electric vehicle revolution in Delhi and make the capital the EV capital of India.”

Gehlot further said, “More than 7000 new electric vehicles have been registered in Delhi. The subsidy of about Rs.13.50 crore has been distributed so far on more than 210 models approved in the capital.”

More than 100 people attended this webinar, aimed at increasing engagement with the public and stakeholders to accelerate the purchase of electric vehicles in the capital. This webinar hosted two panels. In the first panel, there was discussion between the electric vehicle buyer and experts, while in the second, how the EV movement could be run in young Delhi.
Expert panelists run by Amit Bhatt, Director of Transport at WRI India, included Dr OP Agarwal of WRI India, Abhishek Ranjan of BRPL, Akshima Ghate of RMI India and Ayushi Jain, EV owner.

Explain that this is the first webinar organized under the Switch Delhi campaign. Switch Delhi is an eight-week public awareness campaign by the Delhi government. The aim is to make every Delhiite aware of the benefits of switching to electric vehicles for the environment.

Simultaneously, efforts are made to sensitize people about the incentives and infrastructure being developed under the EV Policy of Delhi. The objective of this campaign is to inform, encourage and motivate every person in Delhi to switch from polluting vehicles to zero emission electric vehicles.
