WNBA star Brittney Griner’s pre-trial detention in Russia was prolonged by a month throughout a Friday courtroom look, her lawyer informed The Associated Press.
Griner’s lawyer Alexander Boikov informed the outlet the brief extension could point out that her case will go to trial quickly.
Griner, a star middle for the Phoenix Mercury, was arrested in February on drug costs after a search of her baggage on the Sheremetyevo airport close to Moscow turned up vape cartridges containing oil derived from hashish, authorities mentioned.
