Whastapp working on flash call
Whatsapp is working on a new feature to protect such users from such scams. The WABeta report states that Whastapp is recently working on a new feature called Flash Call, in which users will be allowed to verify their phone number automatically when they try to log-in to Whastapp.
Whastapp users approval required
Whastapp’s new feature Flash Call will require user approval to access the call log of your phone. After that it will automatically verify if they have taken a call to give access to their Whastapp account. This feature is first seen on Android Beta version 18.104.22.168 of the app. According to the screenshot given in the WABeta report, Flash Call will be an optional feature, which users will use to their liking. In this, users have to decide whether they want to give WhatsApp access to their call log for Flash Call.
Flash Call will give more security
According to the WABeta report, Flash Call is a good suggestion. Whastapp itself has cautioned users about such frauds in which Cyber Criminals claim users to be company representatives and send them messages and ask them to share the OTP again. Such call frauds often scare users by saying that they need to verify their account and if they do not do so, their account will be deactivated. Due to this fear, innocent users share their OTP with fraud and lose access to their accounts.
