Fijian authorities seized a $300 million superyacht owned by sanctioned Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov, the Department of Justice introduced Thursday.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, or OFAC, sanctioned Kerimov in 2018. At the time, Treasury stated Kerimov was an oligarch who profited from the Russian authorities via corruption and its unlawful annexation of Crimea. It added that the Russian billionaire was additionally an official within the Russian authorities.

The Justice Department estimates that Kerimov’s yacht is value $300 million or extra. The Cayman-flagged motor yacht is reported to have an inside format that sleeps as much as 16 company in 8 cabins and is supplied with a helipad.
