Islamabad In Pakistan, the incidents of the withdrawal of minors and forced marriages continue to unfold. But now a case has arisen which has caused a stir in the political streets of Pakistan. Actually, a case of a Pakistani MP marrying a minor girl has come up. Police has now started an investigation about this.

In fact, the case of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader and National Assembly (MNA) member from Balochistan, Maulana Salauddin Ayubi, has been married to a 14-year-old girl. After receiving a complaint in this regard, the local police has started an investigation.

The Pak Observer, quoting local media reports, has said that the police have started an investigation after receiving a complaint from an NGO working for the welfare of women in Chitral. At the same time, Pakistani media don has told in a report that the girl is a student of Government Girls High School, Jughur.

The birth date of the student has been recorded in the school on 28 October 2006. This shows that the girl was not married at her age. Media reports state that Maulana Salauddin Ayyubi is a member of the National Assembly and is over 50 years of age.

Girl’s marriage age set to be 16 years in Pakistan

Media reports quoting SHO Inspector Sajjad Ahmad of Chitral Police Station said that the police had reached the girl’s house for investigation a few days ago on the complaint of the organization. The girl’s father has denied marriage. An affidavit was also given regarding this. Now the entire case is being investigated and action will be taken if found guilty.

According to the Pak Observer, the MP has confirmed only nikah with the girl while a proper marriage ceremony is yet to be held.

Let us tell you that the age of the girl for marriage in Pakistan has been fixed at 16 years. If a parent marries their girl child below the prescribed age, the law recommends strict punishment.
